In spring-summer 2010 collection Miuccia Prada tried to combine classicism with new technologies. What happened? Let’s take a closer look at shoes in a plastic frame pompous pendants and miniature chandeliers of Classical period.

Stir in one form of materials of different times for Prada does not make a big deal. In her new collection we were surprised to find summer shoes made of transparent plastic, with stylized objects of Italian interior of past centuries.

The contrast is so extraordinary that shoes look almost comically absurd. Crystals in a “frame” deprive glamorous shine and look just like a rattle. The price of this footwear increases sticky fasteners, which look very rough at the transparent material. This lack of practicality is very essential. Hardly anyone would risk to walk in these transparent shoes a few hours, I do not even want to think what will happen with her feet on a hot summer day.

What is the meaning of such sharp contrasts? Maybe Miuccia Prada wanted to show her in the comic version? In fact, Prada wanted to be optimistic. She expressed her views on the current situation: “If things go wrong, we must seek a way out of this situation. And my choice is optimism.”

I just had to show you what Prada presented. It is just so cool. Prada always seems to have the most creative looks – in both women’s wear and men’s wear. This line is no different. They featured shoes leather jackets, sweaters and trousers that were perforated till they were lightweight and seemingly tissue thin. It sounds odd, but the effect was unbelieveable.
